WPS - The Simplest Technique to connect a device to your WiFi Router

What is WPS?

WPS or Wi-Fi Protected Setup allows you to add new wireless clients to your local network in a swift and easy way, without the need to enter any of your wireless settings (network name, wireless key, encryption type).

Most wireless routers support this technique of setting up new clients.

I recently attached my Android phone using this technique and I will take you through he steps that I took.

  1. Go to the WiFi settings of your Android device.
  2. Press the icon on the screen showing the up/down arrows.
  3. Press the WPS button on the wireless router. This button may be hard to find but generally every router has this somewhere.
Your Android device will hopefully now be connected. It's not the whole story, in terms of hackable interface its the easiest, but it's also that simple to setup.
